Baby Girl Defies Expectations And Survives To Cuddle Her Twin Brother In Sweet Photo.
Here is a heart warming story of premature twins….The image of them hugging each other would bring tears to the eyes of many.
First mum Laura Hough, from Walton, Liverpool, delivered her twins Neve and Louie through an emergency caesarean section at 30 weeks on March 8 because Neve was not receiving enough nutrients in the womb.
Laura had to visit the hospital twice a week for check ups.
This time there were complications with the girl’s placenta. Reports showed that the two children were in separate bags. The boy was doing very well. There were problems as far as blood flow to the girl child was concerned.
The 27-year-old mother, from Walton, said for the first time: ‘They sent me up the wall. I was going to hospital twice a week as Neve, her placenta was deteriorating.
“She and Louie were in separate bags and he was fine, but it was affecting her blood flow so I had to have an emergency C-section.”
She added: “For a good few weeks I was carrying them, the hospital kept telling me she wasn’t going to make it.
The twins, who were born at Liverpool Women’s Hospital with Louie weighing just over 3lbs and Neve just over 1lb, were separated at birth so they could both receive vital treatment.
Despite Neve’s problems in the womb, Louie seemed to suffer more following his premature arrival as both his lungs collapsed and he needed treatment to drain the air out of his lungs.
Due to the complications, the decision was made to separate the twins immediately after birth so Louie could quickly receive medical intervention and treatment.
Laura continued, “When they came out, she didn’t need any oxygen at all, she was fine. It was Louie, both his lungs collapsed because he had air in them.
Two weeks after they were born, Louie and Neve were finally reunited in the same incubator, and adorable photographs saw them lovingly ‘holding hands’ and hugging each other.
At one point, Neve was found putting her arms around Louie’s neck as if she was telling Louie how much she missed him. These adorable moments of the adorable twins were captured by their parents Laura and Chris, they even shared these pictures.
Laura said: ‘About two nights ago, one of the other babies was being moved to a different unit, so they brought Neve downstairs and put her in the same room as her brother.
Laura admitted that despite her joy when her babies were born, she was also scared because the doctors had warned her that Neve might not survive.
But what stood out was the fighting spirit of her twin brother and sister. Neve was a little fighter right from the start. Despite being a weak premature child with numerous complications, she survived and proved her doctors wrong, who believed she would never make it. She brought a smile on the faces of her parents.
All those who had witnessed little Snow’s journey will admit that she was a bundle of joy. They say, “Great things come in small packages”. Little Neve just proved them right!!!!.
