When Savannah Combs, 23,who is originally from Middleburg, Florida, learned she was pregnant with twins, she was thrilled. Then she learned another rarity: they both had dσwn sчndrσmє
Savannah and her husband was emotional Justin Ackerman. They knew that some people would judge her and her babies because of their condition.
She didn’t want to lose any her babies
But for Savannah, that’s what makes them incredibly precious. Savannah didn’t want to lose any of her babies and was ready to love them just the way they were
“It’s very rare what they have, but they have been my little jewels,” she said.
Savannah shared her post-pregnancy journey with her daughters Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, on TikTok where they quickly gained a following.
She being told to abort her babies because they wouldn’t make it. She decided to keep them and give them a fighting chance.
“Every [prenatal] appointment knowing they were alive was a blessing to me,” Savannah explained.
When she learned they both had dσwn sчndrσmє, her husband was at boot camp.
Savannah delivered her daughters: Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, were born on May 12, 2021. The twins arrived two months early, so they had to spend several weeks in the NICU before coming home.
Savannah continues to be active on TikTok and Facebook because she wishes to educate and raise awareness regarding dσwn sчndrσmє. Sadly, there are still those who never miss a chance to criticize the young mom and her adorable girls.
Despite their rare condition, Savannah said the twins are like any other child.
“They have feelings. Their hearts beat. They know how to talk. And they know how to do the things you do. They’ll get there,” she said.
As each child continues to hit their milestones, Savannah shares their adorable updates on TikTok.
“I’m going to let them know that they’re just like us and will make it as long as they put their minds to it.”
Still, some people feel the need to criticize Savannah and her family.
As a result, the young mom has had to respond to some truly insensitive users on social media.
“I wouldn’t want these babies; if mine were born like this, they would be adopted straight away,” one person wrote to the mother.
But Savannah had the perfect response, which she shared on Facebook.
“I said, thank goodness they weren’t born to you and they were born to me. God knew what he was doing in giving these babies to the right parents who would love them regardless.”
Beautiful girls.
Anyone who says otherwise is just plain mean. These are the most precious and loving people ever!
Combs is a kind and brave mother who chooses to love her twins, despite the criticism. At the same time, she dedicates her time and effort to raising awareness around dσwn sчndrσmє and treating everyone with love and respect.
