Janet, a mother of two, was overcome with grief as she observed her husband of 25 years, Thomas, being buried and gone.

Eric and Brad couldn’t stomach seeing their mother in so much misery. To console her one day, they spoke with her about places she would love to visit.

Florence took out an old photo album and began sharing sweet memories of her love story with their late father, before breaking down in tears while pointing to one particular photograph…

“I still remember this place,” she cried, showing an old picture of a bridge. “I met your dad here. We shared the same passion for wandering in nature and bird watching. I wish I could go there again and tell him how much I miss him.”

After hearing their mother’s longing, 20-year-old Eric and Brad came up with an idea. The next day, they surprised her with an airline ticket, fulfilling her wish.

Janet couldn’t refuse the offer since she was thrilled to be able to return to the location that represented her love for her late spouse.

She consented and left for vacation two days later, unknowing of her sons’ plans for her house.

“Son, thank you so much. It still feels the same, and I am standing on the bridge where your father proposed to me!” Janet said on a call from her vacation spot.

“Mom, we are glad you are enjoying your holiday. I hope you are comfortable in the hotel we booked for you,” replied Eric.

“Well, sorry, mom…Brad and I have important work back here… Maybe some other time okay? Talk to you later, bye!”

Janet completely believed Eric and imagined they were working on something meaningful. But she had no idea what they were thinking.

Meanwhile, Eric and Brad recognized they were running out of time and decided to carry out their plan. They also took a week off from work to complete their goals before their mother returned.

The two had a busy week. They awoke before sunrise and were busy until late at night. Janet’s return date quickly approached. Eric was apprehensive as he picked her up from the airport.

Janet sensed something was up, especially since Eric was frequently on his phone.

“Is everything ready? Yeah, we’re on our way…soon….” she overheard him say to someone. Janet became suspicious and arrived home, only to be met with the biggest sh0ck of her life.

“Oh my God!” she gasped. “What happened to my house? H-how did you boys do it?”

Eric and Brad astonished their mother by finishing it for their father. They restored the kitchen, installed new furnishings to the living room, and painted the entire house.

Eric and Brad blindfolded their mother and led her into her bedroom. Janet gasped in surprise as they removed the blindfold.

The wainscotted wall featured a stunning collection of family portraits from various eras. Her children’s nice act moved Janet. She embraced and kissed them, unable to stop crying.

Later that evening, Janet spent a long time with her sons in front of the fireplace, reliving her holiday memories.

“….And here’s what’s more surprising! I felt your dad’s hand on my shoulder as soon as I closed my eyes and said, “I love you” on the bridge. I felt his presence in a gush of wind that made my heart lighter and happier!”

“Yeah, Mom, Dad is always with us in our memories!” said Eric as Brad played a beautiful melody on the piano, filling their lovely home with sweet memories!
