DIY projects are always challenging. Building and creating something from scratch involves a lot of devotion, a creative mind, and, in the case of Alex Dodman, a lot of YouTube viewing.
The Essex native recently moved into a new home that required renovations.
Being interested in completing the majority of the restoration himself, he devised a strategy and transformed his new home into an extraordinarily lovely home for himself, his wife Sarah, and their two children, Allie and Eddie.
After the renovations were completed, it was time for a new pool. Believe it or not, Alex built it mostly by himself. He began the project in 2020, but when the COVID-19 epidemic occurred, his work was delayed.
He purchased the majority of the materials needed on Facebook, and the completed project cost him roughly $10,000, which is significantly less than hiring a professional for the work.
“I did everything myself,” he told me, “from picking up the materials and bringing them into my garden to hiring a digger and digging the hole, as well as the tiling and all of the plumbing.”
Building a swimming pool was a difficult task, but Alex was eager to transform his backyard into a recreational area.
To better comprehend the entire procedure, he viewed numerous YouTube videos, particularly those of a woman from Holland who inspired him with her DIY invention.
When the pool was built, he was proud of his accomplishments, and his family adored it.
This wasn’t the first time, however, for Alex to build something from scratch. In the past, he created a home theater and a gym all by himself which helped him safe around $75,000. Impressive, isn’t it?
