A man went to the hospital to visit his mother-in-law, who had been admitted in very serious condition.
After spending a while with her and speaking to the doctors, he finally headed home.
The moment he walked through the front door, his wife rushed over nervously.
“Well? How’s my mother doing?” she asked anxiously.
The husband took a deep breath and said:
“Honestly? She’s doing fantastic.”
The wife blinked in surprise.
“She’s strong, healthy, and apparently has many years ahead of her. In fact, the doctors think she’ll be discharged very soon… and she’ll probably come live with us permanently so we can help take care of her.”
The wife stared at him in complete confusion.
“That makes no sense,” she said. “Yesterday the doctors told me she was close to d*ath! They said she might only have a few days left!”
The husband shrugged.
“Well, I don’t know about yesterday,” he replied. “But today, the doctor grabbed me by the shoulder, looked me straight in the eye, and said…”
He paused dramatically.
“‘You and your family should prepare for the worst.’” 😂
