Paddy’s Biggest Surprise of the Night
After spending the evening drinking far more than he should have, Paddy was staggering home through a dimly lit alley.
As he wandered along, a woman stepped out of the shadows.
“Looking for some company?” she asked with a smile.
“How much?” Paddy slurred.
“Twenty pounds.”
“Deal.”
A moment later, they were just getting started when a police officer suddenly appeared and shined his flashlight on them.
“What’s going on here?” the officer demanded.
Paddy looked up, slightly annoyed.
“Nothing, Officer,” he replied. “I’m just spending a little time with my wife.”
The officer immediately lowered his flashlight.
“Oh! My apologies, sir,” he said politely. “I didn’t realize she was your wife.”
Paddy squinted at the woman for a long second.
Then he looked back at the officer and muttered,
“Neither did I… until you shined that flashlight on her face.”
