Melania Trump enjoys a far healthier diet than her fast food loving husband
While Donald Trump has made history when becoming the oldest person to be sworn into office as US President, his diet is that of a much younger man.
The 78-year-old US President is well-known for his fast food diet, chomping down on McDonalds on Air Force One and guzzling up to 12 Diet Cokes every day.
But when it comes to nutrition, his wife, Melania Trump, takes a different, far healthier, approach.
The First Lady is said to enjoy a diet that is ‘fresh and organic,’ and aims at eating at least seven portions of fruit per day.
AdÄ‘itionally, she practices strict portion control and only indulges in less healthy treats – ice cream and dark chocolate are her favourites – every now and then.
In a post on Facebook, Melania shared the recipe for the ‘every day delicious and healthy breakfast’ she swears by.
The smoothie consists of ‘spinach, carrots, blueberries, celery, apple, orange juice, lemon juice, fat-free yogurt, olive oil, flax seeds, omega-3, [and] vitamin D,’ and is packed with nutritional benefits.

Spinach and blueberries are both great sources of antioxidants – which protect cells from damage caused by free radicals and decrease inflammation – as are carrots, which is also loaded with fibre, vitamin A and potassium.
Flaxseed infuses the smoothie with omega-3, supporting the function of cells throughout the body, and also contains an extra boost of antioxidants and fibre.
And, though adding olive oil to your morning smoothie might seem strange, the ingredient is once again loaded with antioxidants and other anti-inflammatory properties.

It’s pretty much the opposite approach to nutrition to her husband, who has even made a point of serving fast food at official events.
“We could have had chefs, we could have, but we got fast food because you know what, I know you people very well.”, Trump stated at a 2019 White House event during his first term as President for the North Dakota State Bison college football team.
In the meantime, Melania’s smoothie recipe has gone down a storm with her fans.
“Thank you so much; It won’t make me as beautiful as you, but I hope it will help some.”, one wrote in the Facebook post’s comments.
Another said: “You are a sweetheart!! Thanks for the recipe!!”
And a third commented: “I made this smoothie. It was great. Except I used frozen spinach cubes. Delicious.”
