To celebrate Prince Archie’s sixth birthday, Meghan Markle shared a sweet photo of her son that quickly captured attention online.
Posted to Instagram on Tuesday, May 6, the image shows Archie from behind as he gazes over a balcony, seemingly admiring a stunning sunset. Accompanying the photo, Meghan wrote a heartfelt caption:
“Our son. Our sun.
“Happy 6th birthday to Archie!
“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?
“(And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special).”
The post quickly drew a flood of comments from royal fans, many of whom pointed out one particular detail — Archie’s height.
One commenter wrote, “What a beautiful picture of Prince Archie. He’s getting so tall. Happy birthday!”
Another added, “He’s really growing fast — definitely takes after his dad, Prince Harry.”
A third joked, “Either Archie is unusually tall for a six-year-old or that balcony railing is just low!”
With Prince Harry standing at about 6 feet 1 inch and Meghan at 5 feet 6 inches, it’s not too surprising that Archie might be tall for his age.
In addition to Archie, Meghan and Harry are also parents to three-year-old Lilibet. Meghan recently opened up about her journey through motherhood during an episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, in a conversation with Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder of Bumble.
During the episode, Meghan revealed that she had suffered from postpartum pre-eclampsia — a rare but serious condition that can occur after childbirth, marked by high blood pressure and protein in the urine.
“We both had such similar experiences, though we didn’t know each other at the time — with postpartum issues, and we both had pre-eclampsia,” Meghan shared. “It’s rare and terrifying. You’re trying to keep everything going while no one really knows what you’re going through behind the scenes. And even in that silence, you’re doing your best to show up, especially for your children. But these are serious medical scares.”
Whitney responded by recalling how impressed she was with Meghan’s public appearance shortly after Archie’s birth.
“I’ll never forget the image of you right after delivering Archie, when the world was waiting to see him,” she said.
“I was either just becoming a mom or about to, and I remember thinking, ‘How is she managing this? How is she wearing heels and standing there in this stunning outfit, introducing her baby to the world?’”
