When I’m out in public and see a child out of control, I suck my teeth and attempt to ignore the small one. The child’s parent should be in charge of their behavior and prioritize getting the child to behave in public. However, if the youngster is simply out of control and cannot be restrained, I will impose myself and advise him to calm down.
A Reddit user shared a similar story. He was waiting in line at a Burger King when a toddler and his mother arrived behind him. Everything seemed great at first, but the child soon began to misbehave. It was obvious that the child was distressed and would not allow his mother control him, so the Redditor felt forced to step in and do the parent’s job for her.
“This kid was out of control, screaming, punching his mother throwing around a Gameboy whenever something didn’t go right in the game,” THR111, a Redditor, commented. “The mother didn’t seem to pay any attention to him, despite his persistent screams, ‘I want a f***ing pie.’ Within 5 minutes of waiting in line, I experienced a severe migraine.
That is when the man did what he needed to do. He urged the woman to remove her rowdy youngster from the line. She did not follow his advise very well.
“I calmly turn and politely request that she calm or quiet her child. She immediately gets up in my face, telling me that I cannot advise her anything about raising her child and that I should mind my own business. I nod and turn around; she’s still ranting at the back of my head when the child calls out again, saying he wants pie. The mother calms him, calling him sweety and promising them pies for lunch because she adores him so much.
When the man reached the front of the line, he determined to teach the obnoxious brat and his mother a lesson.
“All I can think about is how the people behind me ruined my splurging and caused this headache. I then decided to destroy their day. In addition to my burgers, I order every remaining pie. It ended up being 23 pies in total. He wrote, “I take my order and walk towards the exit.”
He succeeded.
“Moments later, I hear the woman exclaim, ‘What do you mean you don’t have any pies left? Who purchased them all? I turn around to see the clerk pointing me out, as the woman gives me a death gaze. I stand there, pull out a pie, and slowly begin eating while staring back at her. She starts racing towards me but is unable to reach me due to other lines in the food court. “I turn and slowly walk away.”
How do you react to this man’s story?
