My grandson walked into the living room holding his phone and trying not to laugh.
“Grandpa… did you really post this on Facebook?”
I looked up.
“Post what?”
He turned the screen toward me.
“Where is my missing left shoe?”
I frowned.
“I didn’t post that on Facebook!”
“I typed it into Google so it could help me find it!”
My grandson burst out laughing.
“Grandpa… Google can’t search inside the house!”
“And somehow you posted it as your Facebook status instead.”
I shrugged.
“Well… technology is confusing.”
He kept scrolling.
“Your old classmates from 1960 are all commenting.”
“One says, ‘Check under the couch.'”
“Another says, ‘Have you looked in the garage?'”
“Someone even offered to mail you a spare shoe!”
I smiled.
“That’s nice of them.”
Then I looked down at my feet…
Paused…
And said,
“Tell them not to bother.”
“If they find the left one, they can keep it.”
My grandson blinked.
“Why?”
I sighed.
“Because I’ve been wearing two right shoes all day…”
“…and I honestly thought the floor was uneven!” 😂🤣
