Mosquitoes are attracted by damp places, yes, but also by the smell of our skin, defenselessly exposed to the attacks of these odious insects. And here, the garden that we dreamed of enjoying throughout the winter becomes the chosen place for mosquito attacks, and the nights turn into a nightmare. How to keep mosquitoes away in a natural and safe way, inside and outside the house? The answer is simple: coffee. Let’s see how.
There are many mosquito repellents on the market, but most are chemical preparations that are not recommended for long-term use or, if natural, can be expensive. Another very easy way to try to keep mosquitoes away from indoor and outdoor environments is to use an ingredient that is found in almost every kitchen: coffee grounds. It is a natural repellent, recommended by the EPA – the American Environmental Protection Agency – and whose power has been confirmed by various studies since 2003 . In the following we offer you a very simple way to use all its repellent power.
First take the coffee grounds and place them on a plate covered with aluminum foil, then store them in a cool, dry place until completely dry.
At this point you can put it on the table or on a balcony and burn it until it is smoky: the coffee grounds burn slowly and for a long time, scaring away mosquitoes.
