A woman named Lena was hired at the factory that manufactures the famous “Tickle Me Elmo” plush toys.
The next morning, the assembly line foreman stormed into the personnel manager’s office, absolutely fuming. “The new girl is completely backing up the entire production line!” he yelled. “We are already hours behind schedule!”
The manager, wanting to see the problem for himself, walked down to the factory floor with the foreman. When they arrived, they were met with absolute chaos. Hundreds of unfinished Elmo dolls were piled high on the floor, completely clogging the conveyor belts.
In the middle of the mess stood Lena, working with intense concentration. She had a massive roll of red plush fabric and a giant bag of glass marbles. The two men watched in absolute bewilderment as Lena cut a tiny square of red fabric, wrapped two marbles inside it, and meticulously sewed the small pouch right between Elmo’s legs.
The personnel manager immediately burst into hysterical laughter. After taking a few minutes to catch his breath and wipe the tears from his eyes, he walked over to her.
“Lena, I am so sorry,” the manager chuckled, trying to keep a straight face. “I think you completely misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday.”
He pointed to the pile of marbles and said, “Your job was to give Elmo two test-tickles!”
