A man was pulled over for using his phone while driving.
The moment the officer approached the car, the man quickly shoved his phone under the seat and grabbed a small book titled “The Good Driver’s Handbook.”
The officer looked through the window and asked, “What are you reading?”
The man smiled nervously. “I’m studying how to become a better driver, Officer.”
The officer nodded. “Good. And when did you start studying?”
The man replied, “The exact moment I saw your flashing lights in my rearview mirror.”
The officer smiled, pulled out his ticket book, and started writing.
The man sighed. “Come on, Officer. Doesn’t making an effort count for extra credit?”
The officer handed him the ticket.
“It does. Consider this your homework.”
He paused and added, “Just make sure you don’t repeat the course… especially while you’re driving!”
The man looked at the ticket and muttered, “I should’ve studied this book before I saw the lights.”
