A senior couple is proving that it’s never too late to find love, even if it comes many years after your first.
Love is a huge part of the human experience; you read about it, watch movies about it, and if you’re lucky, you find your other half, get married and grow old together. For some people, the story is a little bit different, and there’s more than one soulmate out there. Your heart will melt after you read this love story which shows that love is real, and you’re never too old to experience it.
John, a ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ᴡᴀʀ ɪɪ ᴠᴇᴛᴇʀᴀɴ and Phyllis, a native of West Virginia are a great example of finding love at any age. They both live in the Kingston Residence – a senior living facility is located close to Toledo, Ohio. Their love blossomed over the course of their courtship, and then, the two sealed the deal and secured a marriage license, making their union official. Phyllis explains their love, and you feel the deep connection the two have. She knows that others might think it’s crazy, that at their age they can feel this way, but they do. That’s the magical part about their story. It’s like two teenagers who fell in love. There’s an undeniable spark!

John explains that they never planned on actually getting married that day; they were just there for the license, but at the courthouse, John and Phyllis were told they could go ahead and be married if they wanted. John was abrupt and told them yes. The two lovebirds got it over with and spent their honeymoon back at the Kingston Residence as the “it” couple.
John and Phyllis were both widowed twice, and they know the truth about what makes a relationship last. The two say it’s all about respecting each other’s space. They continue to live separately in their own apartments; he’s downstairs and she’s upstairs. When asked about their preferred activity together, John responded, “Well I probably shouldn’t talk about that.”
